About Laura Irene Young
Laura Irene Young's Journey
Laura Irene Young has been a writer, director, and actor for many years.
​
In 2010, Laura received her BFA in Performing Arts from Youngstown State University and began working in professional theater. She worked at Trumpet in the Land, Theatre West Virginia, Harmonie Opera Club, Opera Western Reserve, Smokey Mountain Murder Mystery Dinner Show, Arcade Comedy Theater, along with many others.

In 2014, Laura received her MFA in Performing Arts and MA in Arts Administration from Savannah College of Art and Design.
She co-directed the 2022 season of Hershey Park Dark Nights and directed a local elementary school musicals featuring over 125 children from 2022-2024.

Laura curated a love of puppetry from a young age. In 2014, she became company manager and lead puppeteer for Pinocchio's Marionette Theater in Orlando, FL. From 2016-2022, Laura worked to digitally puppeteer and voiced avatars to train professionals around the world.
​
Laura received her Yoga Teacher Certification in 2017 from Yogaworks.
In addition to her work in theater, Laura has also written a children's book series, The Dapper Adventures.

In 2019, Laura wrote the first draft of WHEN JESUS DIVORCED ME. In 2023, WHEN JESUS DIVORCED ME was commissioned by Off the Wall Productions for an International tour of the production, playing in Pittsburgh, New York, and Iceland.

Laura is a member of Actor's Equity Association.
​
Laura currently teaches theater arts at the collegiate level.
